An untested backup is a rumor
The question is never “do you have backups.” It is “when did someone last restore from them, and how long did it take.” We answer both in writing.
What we set up
3-2-1. Three copies of your data, on two kinds of media, with one offsite. For most clients that is a local appliance for fast restores plus encrypted cloud replication for the building-burns-down case.
Immutability. Recovery points that cannot be altered or deleted for a fixed window, even by an administrator account. This is the control that turns a ransomware event from a business closure into a bad two days.
Microsoft 365 coverage. Mail, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams data backed up independently of Microsoft’s own retention.
RTO and RPO, agreed up front
- Recovery Point Objective — how much data you can afford to lose, which sets backup frequency.
- Recovery Time Objective — how long you can afford to be down, which sets what recovery infrastructure you need.

Testing
Restores are tested on a schedule, not only after an incident. You get the result — what was restored, how long it took, and what failed — in writing.
